The restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electrical and electronic equipment regulations 2005 has banned the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants from July 2006.
We identified at an early stage the importance of complying with the RoHS directive and initiated a compliance programme with our suppliers. We continue to work with them to ensure that both our current, and future, product ranges are compliant, however, not all of our stocks of them are compliant yet. |
Unless specifically advised otherwise by you we intend to continue to supply such products because we recognize that some of the products we sell fall outside the scope of the RoHS directive and that others may be used in exempt applications.
Nonetheless if your application requires RoHS compliant product please be sure to specify this at the point of ordering. We will continue to monitor the implementation of the RoHS directive and will add information to our website over the coming months. |
