***** AURIGA PRESS RELEASE *****
AURIGA – THE FIRST CHOICE FOR TEST AND MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT
MILTON KEYNES, UK – 1 August
2005 - Auriga Europe Plc, the Milton Keynes-based distributor of
structured cabling, networking systems and accessories has announced the
expansion of their successful Test and Measurement division with the addition of
several key new products.
Setting new standards for compactness and easy-of-use, the OFL200 Handheld
Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) from NOYES AFL is smaller than many
optical loss test sets. A full OTDR, it can measure fibre backscatter as well as
fresnel reflections, detecting reflective and non-reflective breaks including
crushed fibres. The OFL200 includes an integrated 650nm visual fault locator
(VFL) for short distance troubleshooting and fibre tracing.
Auriga’s own OPTRONICS brand adds a new selection of bare fibre adaptors to the
portfolio. Used to temporarily connect bare (unterminated) fibre for test,
service and communication requirements, the adaptors offer amazing
value-for-money and outstanding performance.
FLUKE NETWORK’S CableIQ tester creates a new category of ‘qualification testers’
within the Auriga range. Able to assess whether a cabling link can support
10/100, VoIP or Gigabit Ethernet protocols, the CableIQ’s advanced diagnostics
deliver detailed reasons if a cable cannot support a chosen protocol.
IDEAL INDUSTRIES testing products are a recent addition to the Test and
Measurement division. Offering advanced products such as Ideal’s LANTEK series
of digital cable analysers, LinkMaster Pro, VDV multimedia and Navitek data and
voice testers. Of particular significance are the Platinum Pro, Vol-Con and
Vol-Test XL electrical multimeters, broadening the scope of the Auriga’s
portfolio to include fibre and copper testing and now, electrical testing.
Test and Measurement Division Manager Rob Jewell said “It is our objective to
offer customers the very latest test and measurement products from the best
manufacturers, whilst offering something new as we have with the new electrical
multimeters.”
