AURIGA INTRODUCES NEW RANGE OF ENVIRONMENTALLY- FRIENDLY CLEANING PRODUCTS

MILTON KEYNES, UK - 21 April 2004 - Auriga Europe Plc, the Milton Keynes-based distributor of structured cabling and networking accessories has announced a new range of environmentally-friendly cleaning products for use with fibre optic cabling.

The new product range from Irish manufacturer P.T. Technologies offers installers a green alternative to traditional isopropyl alcohol (IPA) cleaning solutions.  The range of cleaning wipes, solutions and lubricants are all full strength solvents that are non-flammable, non-toxic, water rinseable, non-ozone depleting and worker safe. As a non-volatile alternative to IPA cleaners, there are obvious Health and Safety compliance benefits.

d'Gel is a high performance fibre optic cleaning solution allowing quick and effective removal of interstitial, loose tube filling and flooding compounds without damaging cable or fibre optic components. There is no skin or inhalation risk which allows for fast and effective cable preparation or tool cleaning. d’Gel is available in boxes of twelve 1 litre squirt bottles or in tubs of 100 saturated wipes.

Techlube is a fibre optic cable lubricant designed to reduce friction when pulling cables. A high cling factor ensures the lubricant coating is consistent on large diameter cables, making duct entry during installation easier with less resistance as compared to conventional lubricants. Techlube is available in tubs of 20 litres.

PF Anti Bac anti bacterial hand cleaning wipes eliminate bacteria helping to prevent Weils Disease. Available in tubs of 100 wipes, each heavy duty cloth has one abrasive side and one smooth side, requires no water and contains a rehydration additive to prevent skin drying.

Auriga is supporting the launch of the range with a ‘try before you buy’ incentive scheme. “The P.T. Technologies range offers the installer an environmentally sound alternative to traditional cleaners which we see becoming the industry standard over time’ commented Managing Director Graham Lipson. “Not only this, but the new products are packaged in a convenient and cost effective way which will appeal to the installer.”
