The MT-RJ connector is a little smaller than a standard phone jack, and it’s just as easy to connect and disconnect. It’s half the size of the SC connector it was designed to replace, so it offers twice the port density of traditional fibre connectors. And it’s designed to fit into conventional RJ-45 faceplates and patch panel cut-outs, minimizing the equipment needed for conversion to fibre.
