50/125µm Multimode System
Gigabit Ethernet and other high data rate applications exposed the limitations of the defacto 62.5/125µm fibre type. The advantage of 50/125µm is the higher bandwidth at 850nm. Coupled with equivalent bandwidth at 1300nm, the 50/125µm fibre offers the best support for legacy, current and future applications. AMP NETCONNECT 50/125µm cables support Gigabit Ethernet to 600m in both operating windows, while still supporting all legacy applications to the distances supported by the 62.5/125µm fibre. (PP) If you are installing a new optical fibre network, you should seriously consider selecting the 50/125µm fibre system for your horizontal and building backbone applications.
