The OPM 4 series are full featured palm sized
optical power meters designed for use with an optical light source for
performing optical loss measurements on fibre optic cables. The OPM 4 is
fully N.I.S.T. traceable and will provide years of accurate measurements.
The front panel keys turn the OPM 4 on and off, switch between power (dBm)
and loss (dB) modes, view/set reference, and change the measured wavelength.
The OPM 4 operates from a single 9V alkaline. If no keys are selected within
approximately 5 minutes, the OPM 4 automatically shuts down to conserve
power.
A reference value can be set for each wavelength and is saved in memory.
Turning the OPM 4 on and off, changing wavelengths, switching between dBm
and dB, and even replacing the battery do not affect the stored references.
Optical connections to the OPM 4 are made via the universal adapter
interface on the top of the unit. An adapter cap is required to mate a fibre
to the OPM 4. All OPM 4's come with a soft carry case, protective rubber
boot, manual and 9 volt battery.
