Active redundancy principles
Upsilon STS™ supplies a number of loads from one of two
independent and redundant sources. It ensures no-break transfer from the
preferred source to the alternate source in either automatic mode (according to
user settings) or manual mode.
Advantages
> secure maintenance
by de-energising a part of the installation for servicing;
> simplified maintenance because servicing
is fast and does not require interrupting power to the load;
> improved power availability and possible
upgrading to higher ratings;
> no risk of fault propagation from one
source to the other.

No-break
transfer
Upsilon STS™ uses the "break before make" technique which
ensures no source overlapping, i.e. the sources are never in parallel during
transfer. This function eliminates any risk of fault propagation between the two
sources.
Upsilon STS™ guarantees transfer in just three milliseconds, i.e. three times
faster than required by IEC international standard 62040.
