Marshal Tufflex Overview

Marshall Tufflex Sovereign & Sovereign Plus Technical Information

Sovereign & Sovereign Plus Technical Information

The neat, simple and economical system for surface wiring in all types of buildings. With three fully segregated compartments for dissimilar services. Fully compatible with Marshall-Tufflex Mini-Trunking for greater versatility and with a wide range of overlapping fittings which cater for expansion/contraction and easier installation without the necessity of precision measuring and cutting to tight
tolerances.

PLANNING

Before installing the trunking as a skirting system it is advisable to allow sufficient clearance for the floor covering to be fitted underneath.

BASE

The base should be secured every 500mm by drilling alternating 6mm holes in the two outer compartments (Sovereign) or the slots provided (Sovereign Plus) and fasten using No. 8 round head screws with washers. Avoid over tightening to permit thermal movement. See Material Data page 200 for Thermal Properties.

JOINTS

At each joint 3mm should be left for expansion and all corners and bends must be mitred to ensure total enclosure of trunking. The cutting is not critical as the fitting conceals the mitre and overlaps the lid by a maximum of 10mm.

SOVEREIGN ACCESSORY BOX

Secure the adaptor back-plate into the desired position to maintain total enclosure. Remove the requisite knock-out in the isolator, feed through cable and clip into position. Clip cover to base leaving 5mm either side of isolator. Place adaptor and accessory box into position and secure box using diagonally opposite holes confirming cable is of sufficient length to enable terminating of accessory.

SOVEREIGN MINI ADAPTORS

The Isolator installation procedure is similar to that previously described for the Accessory Box. With sufficient cable being available to terminate correctly. The adaptor is then held in position by the adjacent external covers on each side.

SOVEREIGN PLUS ACCESSORY BOX

Remove the required knock-out in the back segregator, feed through cables and secure using two diagonally opposite holes. The front face adaptor clips onto the back segregator after the trunking cover has been attached to the base. The accessory is then wired and secured to the accessory box.

SOVEREIGN PLUS MINI ADAPTORS

For segregation use the cable retainers, confirming sufficient cable is available for the Mini Trunking spur. The Adaptor is then held in position by the external covers.

LID REMOVAL

Isolate circuit and remove Accessory Adaptor Plate by lifting and releasing the base of the adaptor. This permits access to the top edge of the cover to break the seal and peel off cover.
