Aluminium Cabinet - 19" Swing Rack

760B cabinet

The Austin Taylor 19" Swing Rack cabinet is a heavy duty cross connection cabinet manufactured in marine quality aluminium. It is built to exacting standards for use in high security or harsh environmental applications.

The cabinets are supplied as standard with heavy duty stainless steel latches and there is provision for secondary security locks.

Roof
Double skin pitched roof bolted to body. Alternate roof styles can be provided on request including flat, high pitched or steep slope versions to dissuade climbing or sitting on cabinet. The bolted construction enables the roof style to be changed retrospectively where conditions dictate.

Body
Fully welded one piece construction in 3mm thick material. In the event of severe accident damage, the body can be changed without disconnecting the cross-connection equipment.

Base
3mm hot-dip galvanised steel base. Separated from body by full flange rubber gasket to prevent galvanic corrosion.

Doors
Single door with heavy duty hinges. Opening to 180 degrees, door can be lifted off for additional access. Door stay retains the door at 90 and 135 degrees. Replaceable synthetic rubber car boot type seals are used throughout.

Latches & Security
Stainless steel latches with nylon pawls operated by heavy duty tee-bar keys in a variety of vandal resistant standard shapes. Additional customised styles are available. O type ring seals within the latch body ensure lifetime lubrication and IP65 performance. Latches are tested to withstand a test requirement of 50NM. Provision is made for secondary security locks to be fitted on assembly or retrospectively by the end user with removable blanking covers fitted to standard profile cut-outs. Fitment by end user ensures controlled access. Security dogs on the hinge side of the door prevent the door being removed even if the hinges are forced. Finally a hasp is provided for an external padlock securing door to base if required. The side ventilation units are protected against ingress of inflammable or corrosive liquids by inner boxes.

Equipment Mounting (Backboards)
Cabinets are supplied as standard with fixings to allow installation of Krone, MS2 or Strips Cross Connection. Alternatively the cabinets can be supplied with stainless steel, aluminium, marine ply or chipboard backboards. Star punched or custom punched units are available in all three of the metal versions. For further flexibility in mounting equipment, a marine ply backboard (800mm high x 650mm wide) is also supplied.

Optional gauge plates can be provided for mounting pressure gauges and transducers.

The cabinet has capacity for up to 3 standard cable entry ducts.

Ventilation
Cabinets can operate in sealed or ventilated mode. In ventilated mode, convection currents draw fresh air in through louvres at sides of cabinet forcing warm air out through concealed vents above the doors. Side vents are protected by insect-proof mesh. Changing between sealed and ventilated modes can be done easily without additional components. The cabinet roof has a double skin and air gap to help protect against solar gain. This "double glazing" also helps to reduce condensation.

Finish
Pre-treatment by chemical etching followed by powder coating with polyester material in customers choice of colour (standard is green). Multi colour finishes and silk screened or embossed logos are available on request. The gloss finish enables graffiti to be removed using mild solvents or mild abrasive compounds. Damage can be touched up using brush or aerosol techniques. Repainting is best achieved using two pack polyurethane compounds although gloss paint can be used.
