Whatever your requirements, 3M Telecommunications has the solution!

Whichever way you chose to configure and install your network, whether it is for voice or data transmission, 3M will support you worldwide with efficient, reliable solutions, technical support, and training.

Distributed Network

In a distributed network, fibre is the ideal choice for the backbone, since this is where the traffic is concentrated. In the horizontal, where traffic is less concentrated, Category 5e copper meets all of today’s requirements, adequately supporting transmission speeds up to 1Gbps. Looking to the future, the increased performance capability of the Category 6 system means that new applications are also likely to be supported. Thus, it provides a high level of confidence that the network will last for many years.

Zone Distribution

The use of an active zone distribution point as an alternative to floor and wall sockets for workgroups extends fibre further into the network and facilitates rapid, simple adaptation to changes in the working environment. Direct connection facilities in the immediate vicinity allow a workstation to be moved or upgraded without major disturbance, by using plug-and-play modules. Shorter down times and a smaller requirement for new cabling cut costs considerably.

Centralised Network

Centralised networks - that are fibre optic based – eliminate the need for telecommunications rooms (floor distributors) since the 90m link length restriction on copper systems no longer applies. The simpler network structure, longer link lengths, and almost infinite bandwidth of the fibre facilitates a more-cost-effective network design that in some cases compares favourably to copper.
