Fibre Optic Cabling System

The Fibre Cabling System, as part of 3M™ Volition™ Network Solutions, is a simple, cost-effective, fibre cabling system for use in distributed (fibre in the backbone), fibre-to-the-zone and centralised (fibre-to-the-desk) network architectures. Fibre optic cabling offers a number of significant benefits over traditional copper cabling - including higher bandwidth, longer link lengths and immunity to electrical interference. The Fibre Cabling System from Volition Network Solutions also offers the benefits of simple and fast installation.

The high bandwidth capability of fibre facilitates the transfer of voice, data, and video signals over a single cable at speeds of up to ten gigabits per second, guaranteeing the system will meet the needs of the future.

At the heart of our fibre optic cabling system is the 3M™ Volition™ VF-45™ small form factor (SFF) connector, the shape and appearance of which is similar to the RJ45. The VF-45™, which can be fitted in a fraction of the time it takes to install a traditional fibre optic connector, can be used with multimode and singlemode optical fibres. It provides double the port density of normal fibre optic connector systems and combines simple handling and reliability with top performance. Moreover, the system includes a wide range of cables with different fibre specifications, patch panels, patch cords, sockets, switches, network interface cards, and media converters.
