3M™ Volition™ Outlets

The design of our cabling system outlets results in an extremely low profile. As they are only 28 mm deep, office furniture can stand close to the wall. One or two 3M™ Volition™ VF-45™ duplex sockets can be installed in the outlet, which can be mounted directly on the wall, in trunking, or under the floor.

Volition™ VF-45™ sockets can also be integrated into commercially available data outlets where there is sufficient space available to store the fibre.

3M™ Volition™ Multiport Outlet 2552 for 6x VF-45™ Sockets

The 2552 outlet for the 3M™ Volition™ VF-45™ is a universal outlet, developed principally for zone cabling. It will accept up to six VF-45™ Sockets.

This strong plastic box combines simple installation and clear fibre management.

It can be used in a wide variety of office and manufacturing situations, thanks to its slim and robust design.

3M™ Volition™ Outlet Solution

The Volition™ floor boxes fit exactly into Ackermann underfloor products. The plastic box contains two separate units for fibre optic and copper management, thus making it possible to accommodate fibre optic cables for data and copper cables for telephony together. Various versions are available, including for up to 3 x VF-45™ sockets and 3 x RJ45 jacks.

3M™ Volition™ Patch Panels

Thanks to the small dimensions of the Volition™ VF-45™ sockets, the space requirement is half that of conventional fibre optic patch panels. As a result, the Volition™ patch panel range achieves a fibre optic port density of up to 24 ports per height unit of rack space.

3M™ Volition™ Wall Mount Patch Panels

The wall mount patch panels are manufactured from powder-coated sheet metal. They are mounted simply and quickly on the wall with four screws and include a lockable door.

Three sizes of wall patch panels are available for 6, 12, or 24 ports. The cable may enter the panel from below or above.

3M™ Volition™ Modular Wall Mount Splice Boxes

Wall mount splice boxes are used as transition points between cables containing different numbers of fibres, e.g. a backbone cable and a horizontal cable in centralised fibre optic cabling systems. Complete with splice holders and storage for excess fibre, the modular, slim design avoids the necessity of separate floor distribution cabinets.

Wall mount splice boxes can be mounted in recesses, wall cabinets, in corridors, or on the wall directly behind doors. The modular design cuts costs and increases versatility. The extensive basic configuration of every option contains a universal splice box with a cover, fibre management system, and lockable door.

3M™ FibrLok™ and Multifibre Fibrlok™ Mechanical Optical Fibre Splice

Fibrlok™ mechanical splices are suitable for both single- and multimode fibres having a 125 µm diameter cladding and a 250 µm or 900 µm buffer coating.

The 3M™ Multi-Fibrlok™ multiple fibre splice can be used for both fibre optic ribbon cables and discrete fibres combined to form a ribbon. It is thus possible to connect 4 or 12 fibres simultaneously in one splice.

3M™ Volition™ Fibre Optic Installation Cables for Internal and External Use

Volition™ Networks Solutions provide the right solution for every secondary and tertiary installation requirement with 9/125 single-mode fibres or 50/125 and 62.5/125 multi-mode fibres. All cables are, of course, available with fibre grades to satisfy the new OM2, OM3, and OS standards.

Everything required for the rapid on-site installation of the Volition™ VF-45™ socket is conveniently and compactly integrated into the Volition™ VF-45™ Socket Installation Kit. The "snap together" design of the VF-45™ Socket puts the speed and ergonomics of all established installation systems in the shade. A duplex cable can be terminated with a Volition™ VF-45™ socket in less than two minutes with this installation kit.

3M™ Volition™ VF-45™ Cleaning Kit

Forget the days when you had to spend time opening outlets and patch panels to clean the connections inside. Instead of spreading the dirt around with a cloth, the ends of the fibres are "rinsed" with an HFE cleaning fluid - with no dismantling at all. The fluid evaporates in a few seconds, safely and without leaving a residue. The new 3M™ Volition™ VF-45™ Mechanical Plug Cleaner is available for stubborn dirt and frequently used measurement cables.

3M™ Volition™ Measuring Equipment

Rapid testing of fibre optic networks requires intelligent measurement equipment. The 3M OTDR 2000 used in conjunction with 3M™ Volition™ VF-45™ connecting cables provides the best in fibre optic metrology, whether for fault finding, measurement of attenuation or measurement of return loss. Apart from modules for different wavelengths, multimode and single mode, a visible light source module is also available for fibre identification purposes.
