Copper Cabling System
3M`s Copper Cabling Systems, as part of 3M™ Volition™ Network Solutions, supports conventional cabling structures in enterprise networks. Users are equipped for gigabit Ethernet speeds or even for future transmission protocols at speeds of several gigabits per second, depending upon their choice of system. Complex copper/fibre hybrid networks are increasingly prevalent: fibre and high performance copper combine to help customers to migrate to increasingly higher levels of bandwidth.
3M Telecommunications offers state-of-the-art voice and data Copper Cabling Systems, including a Category 6 system, which provides “significant channel performance headroom” over existing standards.
Category 5e Components with Genuine Class D or Class E Performance
The 3M™ Volition™ RJ45 K5e and Giga jacks are Class 5e components that in the case of the Giga can provide genuine Class E performance. The K5e jack is 3M’s newest design being the most compact and suitable for keystone mounting. The Giga jack, with superior performance is slightly larger and utilises a proprietary mounting interface. Both jacks observe the most recent ISO/IEC 11801, EN 50173-1 and TIA/EIA 568-B.2 international cabling standards.
Category 6 System with Genuine Category 6 Hardware Performance
The 3M™ Volition™ RJ45 K6 jack forms the core of the high-end system. It provides genuine Category 6 hardware performance, observing the most recent ISO/IEC 11801, EN 50173-1 and TIA/EIA 568-B.2-1 international cabling standards.
Both cabling systems provide the engineer with very simple, fast, tool-free installation, thanks to the "one-click" technology used in all of the 3M™ Volition™ RJ45 copper jacks. All components have outstanding transmission properties and enable a reliable installation at minimal cost. Our new Volition™ RJ45 K6 copper jack is being introduced as a comprehensive Category 6 cabling system component with a 20-year system guarantee. This option is, of course, also available for cabling systems installed using the Volition™ RJ45 K5e or Giga copper jacks. |
